At the Nepalese Canadian Association of Calgary (NCAC), we believe that young people are the foundation of a strong, innovative, and prosperous community. Our Youth, Education & Leadership initiative is dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering Nepalese Canadian youth to achieve their full potential while developing the confidence, knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities needed to succeed in Canadian society.
We recognize the importance of education, mentorship, personal development, cultural identity, and community involvement in shaping the next generation. Through educational opportunities, leadership development, career guidance, volunteerism, and meaningful community engagement, we aim to support youth in becoming responsible, confident, and compassionate individuals.
Our vision is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where children, students, and young professionals can explore their talents, pursue their ambitions, embrace their Nepalese heritage, and contribute positively to Calgary's diverse and multicultural community.
1. Youth Leadership & Personal Development
We believe leadership begins with confidence, responsibility, communication, and a willingness to serve others. NCAC encourages youth to develop leadership skills through community participation, teamwork, public speaking, collaborative projects, and volunteer initiatives.
Our goal is to inspire young people to become ethical, responsible, and community-minded leaders who can make a positive difference in society.
2. Career Guidance & Professional Mentorship
Preparing for future careers is an important part of youth development. NCAC aims to create opportunities for students and young professionals to connect with experienced community members, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and mentors.
Through career awareness, networking, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, we strive to help young people explore career pathways, understand workplace expectations, and prepare for professional success in Canada.
3. Youth Volunteerism & Community Service
Community service provides valuable opportunities for young people to develop empathy, teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility.
NCAC encourages youth participation in cultural events, community outreach, volunteer activities, environmental initiatives, and collaborative projects that contribute to the well-being of Calgary's communities.
Through volunteerism, young people can gain meaningful experiences, build relationships, and develop a lifelong commitment to giving back.
4. Youth Wellness, Inclusion & Positive Engagement
The emotional, social, and physical well-being of young people is essential to their overall development.
NCAC aims to promote positive youth engagement through recreational activities, sports, wellness awareness, peer connections, and inclusive community participation.
We encourage a welcoming environment where young people feel respected, supported, and motivated to develop healthy relationships and positive life skills.
5. Entrepreneurship & Future Career Readiness
Entrepreneurship encourages creativity, problem-solving, innovation, and independent thinking.
NCAC seeks to inspire aspiring young entrepreneurs by encouraging business awareness, professional networking, financial literacy education, and connections with experienced business owners and community professionals.
Our goal is to help young people explore opportunities, develop practical skills, and build confidence in pursuing their future ambitions.
